East Los Angeles educational adventures into local parks
for children ages 6-12.
**NEW!** We do birthday parties!!
We'll provide a fun-filled, enriching and memorable nature experience for your child and friends!
WHO WE ARE
We are Tatjana and Camille, two nature lovers whose passions and experience lie in education and science.
Tatjana is a health and wellness coach from Germany and has experience teaching and assisting in Elementary Schools and children's Nature Camps. Camille has a Master in Biological Sciences, and has been teaching Biology at the college level since 2012. Together, we also speak five languages- English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish.
We independently recognized the need for today's children to be away from "screen time" and back out in nature where we grew up, and therefore when we met and realized we shared this passion, we couldn't help but team up and start Coyote Kids.
We hope Coyote Kids will inspire your children to connect on a new level to this incredibly special planet we live on, and seek to further explore and discover all the wonders that it provides.
Please check out our unique Walks and Workshops;
we hope to meet you and your little one(s) soon!
"My 8-year-old son, who nearly cries in protest when I ask him to hike with me, absolutely loves hiking (and learning and crafting and playing games) with Coyote Kids. After his first outing, he came back with a mind-boggling set of facts, and he's always enthusiastic when CK pops up on the calendar. I'm not sure how they do it--it's so good!"
-Chandler Chang, PhD, Child Psychologist
"Coyote Kids is fun because we learn about our surroundings with amazing teachers and friends.
Hiking is fun especially when we get to learn about the animals in our park.”
- Niko, Coyote Kid, 8 years old.

Why is this special?
Besides the numerous benefits that outdoor time provides for children, between both of our Adventure leaders we have elementary education and biology professionally covered!
Our goals are to not only foster an appreciation and respect for nature, which we feel will lay an important foundation for their beliefs as they grow into the independent thinkers of the next generation, but also to understand it better as we will teach the "hows" and "whys" of its seemingly mysterious ways through biological concepts they may not otherwise encounter until high school.
We will give your children a quality educational experience, all the while ensuring they have loads of fun. At the least, we can promise smiles, and at the most, perhaps some future natural scientists in the making!
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand things happen. On our end, however, we need to know how many children we have in order to best organize the activities; we may even potentially have to cancel the adventure if the number of children registered falls below four (and we would hate to do that!). We therefore require a three-day cancellation policy for a full refund. If you just can't make it that day but would like to rebook your child on another day's Adventure (providing availability), we have a 24 hour rebooking window. If you cancel within 24 hours of your child's scheduled Adventure, unfortunately the fee is non-refundable and cannot be applied to another day.
What if I am late dropping off or picking up my child?
Of course, showing up right on time is ideal to have the full Coyote Kids learning experience, however we do not leave for the hike until at least 9:45am, so if you are a few minutes late you'll still catch us. We are more strict on pick up; please make sure you retrieve your child on time.
Furthermore, for safety reasons, we will only release children to a parent/guardian or a pre-authorized person (such as a nanny). This will be established with the initial paperwork.
Can parents join??
We are more than happy to include volunteer parents who wish to help us with our activities throughout the day. Please let us know in advance if you wish to join so we can plan accordingly.
Are we prepared for accidents?
Although we never wish them, sometimes accidents do occur, and we are prepared for them. We are both First Aid and CPR certified and will carry First Aid kits with us everywhere we go. If your child requires special equipment such as an inhaler or EpiPen, we are more than happy to carry it with us, as well.
